The Data Governance Manager will embed effective data, AI and information governance across the organisation, ensuring policies and standards are applied in a practical, consistent way. The role focuses on execution, risk management, data quality and compliance, helping the business use data responsibly and effectively
Responsibilities:
Implement and operate data governance policies, standards, and controls across data and analytics activities.
Support data owners and stewards in meeting accountability for data quality, integrity, and appropriate use.
Coordinate data quality monitoring, issue remediation, and root cause analysis with delivery teams.
Apply AI governance controls to supported use cases, including inventories, risk assessments, and documentation.
Support compliance with global data protection and privacy requirements, including DPIAs and audits.
Administer Microsoft Purview for data cataloguing, classification, lineage, and visibility of risk.
Provide practical guidance and training to teams on data and AI governance expectations.
Identify and escalate data or AI risks beyond tolerance to the Data Governance Lead.
Qualifications & Experience
Proven experience in data governance, data management or a related field.
Strong understanding of data protection regulations such as GDPR.
Familiarity with data governance tools and technologies.
Experience in stakeholder engagement within a complex organisation.
