About the Role
No two days are the same in this role. As a Multi-Skilled Engineer at Thorpe Park Resort, you'll work on a diverse range of high-profile attractions, applying your electrical and mechanical expertise to solve complex engineering challenges in a fast-paced environment.
From fault-finding on ride control systems and maintaining electrical equipment to overhauling ride vehicles, brake assemblies and pneumatic components, you'll be involved in every aspect of attraction reliability and performance. You'll use your technical knowledge, diagnostic skills and attention to detail to identify issues, deliver effective repairs and continually improve asset performance.
Working as part of a highly skilled engineering team, you'll contribute to major winter maintenance projects, planned refurbishment programmes and continuous improvement initiatives, helping ensure our attractions remain safe, compliant and ready to deliver unforgettable guest experiences throughout the season.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities in this position will change dependent on Thorpe Parks operational season and please be aware that some of these responsibilities would be undertaken at height.
Reactive maintenance and repairs, tracked through work order creation and completion.
Undertaking of pre-planned maintenance, including but not limited to:
Adherence to safety practices and quality standards, such as HSG175.
Running diagnostics and preventative/predictive maintenance.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports and logs in support of ongoing compliance metrics.
Maintain good workshop standards utilising 5S / LEAN methodologies.
Assist with auditing and ordering critical spare components for rides and attractions.
Working Patterns
This is a permanent position.
Open Season (March-November): 7 days on / 4 days off, followed by 7 days on / 3 days off shift pattern with split shifts. (4 day off = Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon / 3 day off = Tue, Wed, Thurs).
Closed Season (November-March): Monday to Friday – 6am–2pm / 6am–4pm (Option 1). Monday to Thursday – 6am to 4pm (Option 2), Tuesday to Friday – 6am to 4pm (Option 3).
This role would suit engineers with experience in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, FMCG, automotive, rail, aerospace, marine, facilities, automation or other heavy engineering environments.
An ONC, NVQ Level 3 or BTEC equivalent gained through an engineering apprenticeship or college route.
Post-apprenticeship / post-qualification engineering experience.
Experience within a maintenance engineering environment.
Experience working within manufacturing, automotive, rail, aerospace, marine, facilities engineering or similar technical environments would be advantageous.
Inspection experience would be advantageous.
Full understanding of engineering-related statutory requirements, including COSHH.
Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems and processes.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Strong problem-solving, diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
Experience using technical manuals, risk assessments and engineering documentation.
Previous experience working within a theme park environment is not essential; engineering experience gained within other electrical, mechanical or technical environments is equally suitable.
Experience with PLCs, control systems, motors, sensors, pneumatics or mechanical systems would be advantageous.
