Are you a seasoned Health & Safety professional with a passion for leadership and a commitment to excellence? Britain’s greatest escape Alton Towers Resort is seeking a dynamic and experienced Health & Safety Director to join our Senior Leadership Team (SLT). In this strategic role, you will be the driving force behind our health and safety initiatives, ensuring the highest standards are upheld across the Resort.

 

As the Health & Safety Director, you will lead our H&S team, providing guidance and support to managers, colleagues, and contractors. Your expertise will influence operational and development decisions, ensuring a safe environment for all guests, colleagues, and contractors. Additionally, you will play a key role in crisis management, participating in local Incident Director rotations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

- Team Leadership: Lead and manage the Health & Safety team, fostering a proactive and positive safety culture across the resort.

- Strategic Influence: Collaborate closely with the SLT to integrate health and safety considerations into the resort’s master planning and future developments.

- Crisis Management: Enhance the resort’s crisis management capabilities, ensuring preparedness and effective response to any incidents.

- Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement in safety practices, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and resort standards.

- Compliance & Reporting: Oversee H&S training programs, audit schedules, and ensure all regulatory requirements are met.

 

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

- Professional Qualifications: NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification required.

- Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in H&S roles, with proven success in leadership positions.

- Professional Membership: Member of a recognized professional body or willingness to obtain membership within an agreed timeline.

- Communication & Influence: Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

- Sector Experience: Experience in the resort, hospitality, or a related sector is preferred. Candidates with transferable skills from similar industries are encouraged to apply.

Pay Range

Compensation between GBP £86,000.00/Yr.-GBP £90,000.00/Yr.
