This role is a 12 month FTC (maternity cover)

 

Reporting directly to the Head of Trade Sales - UK, the Hotel & Trade Sales Manager takes the helm in driving revenue growth and exceeding targets in central trade and hotel sales. This high-impact role focuses on boosting revenue, volume, RPC (Revenue Per Capita), and ARR (Average Room Rate) while strategically shaping the future of trade and hotel partnerships.

 

Your mission? Cultivate and supercharge a diverse portfolio of regionally specific trade and hotel accounts, leveraging your expertise to deliver exceptional results. You'll not only drive direct sales but also streamline cost efficiencies and forge dynamic, long-lasting partnerships that amplify success.

 

As a key player, you’ll negotiate bold marketing activations, lead aggregator and reseller relationships, and design innovative sales strategies that disrupt the ordinary. Collaboration is at the heart of this role—working seamlessly with internal teams and external stakeholders to execute ambitious objectives and leave a lasting impact.

Commercial Management

  • Oversee up to 30 regional accounts, driving sales growth and revenue.
  • Expand resort trade hotel accounts and secure new contracts.
  • Develop territory sales plans tailored to market needs and events.
  • Monitor and optimize trade sales performance to achieve volume, revenue, RPC, and ARR targets.
  • Execute tactical sales activities aligned with budgets and negotiate pricing to manage costs efficiently.
  • Identify innovative routes to market through existing clients to maximize account potential.

Communication & Reporting

  • Provide weekly updates to the Head of Trade Sales, highlighting wins, challenges, and forecasts.
  • Submit monthly insights on account performance and regional trends.
  • Act as the key liaison between revenue management, marketing teams, and trade clients, ensuring timely updates on products and pricing.
  • Represent Merlin Entertainments at trade shows and industry events.
  • Deliver product training and presentations to enhance client knowledge and sales potential.

Resource & Operational Management

  • Manage time effectively to balance regional and role-specific priorities.
  • Respond promptly to communications and manage personal expenditure within company policies.
  • Collaborate with the Global Head of Marketing on targeted campaigns and activations.
  • Ensure Accesso merchandising accuracy with Sales Support Executives.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

Essential 

  • Proven track record in managing and developing sales to meet agreed budgets. 
  • Minimum of 2+ years in sales account management. 
  • Experience in hotel contracting, ideally within a tour operator environment; knowledge of hotel booking systems is advantageous. 
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to report and communicate effectively in business English. 
  • Negotiation, communication, and influencing skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to dynamic priorities and a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of education. 

Preferred 

  • Experience in tourism, leisure, or entertainment industries. 
  • Fluency in a second language (French, Spanish, or German preferred). 
  • Familiarity with TravelClick.
