What you'll bring to the team

A job with Merlin isn’t like a job anywhere else. With attractions around the world, from rollercoasters to wax figures, we don’t trade in suits, handshakes or briefcases. We trade in fun. In smiles, shrieks and spine-tingles. In Memories. In magic. But there are no tricks behind our magic. Instead, there are people like you. Passionate, dedicated people who are committed to making sure our worldwide attractions and guests’ experiences are the best they can be.

Due to continuing growth and development of Merlin’s attractions and brands on a global scale, we are looking for a Finance Transformation PMO to join our Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term basis. The role will be based at Basingstoke office, with a hybrid element for those looking for more flexibility.

As a PMO Manager, you'll be at the heart of our transformation efforts, bridging the gap between high-level strategy and practical execution. From planning and governance to stakeholder management and closing success stories, you’ll ensure every step of the project lifecycle runs seamlessly.

You’ll lead by example, empowering teams, streamlining processes, and delivering outcomes that matter. Here's what else you'll get up to;

📊 Portfolio Management:

  • Lead and oversee a portfolio of finance transformation projects.
  • Align projects with strategic objectives, ensuring every effort adds value.
  • Mentor and guide PMO team members to collectively achieve goals.
  • Introduce innovative tools and methodologies to enhance delivery.

🛡️ Project Governance:

  • Define scopes, objectives, and deliverables with stakeholders.
  • Craft detailed plans, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Champion best practices and maintain progress with clear governance.

🗣️ Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Act as the central link between senior leaders, project teams, and stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates on project status, risks, and wins.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, trust, and clear communication.

Timeline Management:

  • Set ambitious but achievable deadlines for every project phase.
  • Keep projects on track, adapting plans when challenges arise.
  • Ensure stakeholders are always in the loop with transparent progress tracking.

Risk & Issue Management:

  • Identify potential risks before they become problems.
  • Develop robust mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Resolve issues quickly to keep the momentum going.

🎯 Project Closure:

  • Celebrate success by ensuring all deliverables meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Lead project reviews to capture learnings and identify improvements.
  • Complete all documentation and showcase the impact delivered.
