The Head of New Business Development is responsible for spearheading the growth and expansion of the B2B sales function into new markets and sectors. This role requires a visionary leader with a strategic mindset, capable of identifying and capitalising on new business opportunities, fostering innovation, and driving sustainable revenue growth. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of market dynamics, a strong network in relevant industries, and a proven track record of successful business development.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

Sales Leadership & Tactical Delivery

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve business goals.
  • Lead and align direct reports with the company’s strategy.
  • Monitor market trends and competitors to identify growth opportunities.
  • Balance immediate tactical needs with long-term strategic objectives.

New Business Acquisition

  • Secure opportunities in sectors like Loyalty, Gifting, MICE, and international markets.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, and clients.
  • Negotiate and close high-value deals for sustainable growth.

Lead Generation

  • Create and implement strategies to build a robust client pipeline.
  • Leverage digital marketing, social media, and networking for leads.
  • Track and optimize lead generation performance.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure smooth execution of new business initiatives.
  • Align operational processes with business goals.
  • Monitor projects to ensure on-time, efficient delivery.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and growing business in relevant sectors.
  • Extensive network and relationships within the Loyalty, Gifting, MICE, and international markets.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in market analysis and business intelligence tools.
  • Results-driven with a focus on achieving and exceeding targets.
  • Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and business needs.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with BI tools to drive data-informed decisions.
