Are you passionate about safeguarding revenue and minimising risk in a fast-paced, dynamic environment? Due to an internal promotion, at Merlin Entertainments, we’re looking for a Profit Protection Analyst to play a key role in protecting our business from financial loss, fraud, and inefficiencies.

 

Working closely with key stakeholders across our global attractions, you’ll analyse data, identify trends, and recommend proactive measures to enhance our profit protection strategy. If you thrive in a role that blends investigation, analytics, and commercial acumen, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

 

This role is based in the UK in a hybrid capacity and we can be flexible on your location. However, you must be able to attend the Finance Hub in Basingstoke once or twice a month, and be flexible to attend our attractions as and when required. 

Key Responsibilities

Fraud & Loss Prevention

  • Monitor and analyse transaction data to detect anomalies, potential fraud, and revenue leakage.

  • Investigate suspicious activity and escalate findings to relevant teams.

  • Support the implementation of fraud prevention measures across our sites.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Develop and maintain reports to track key risk indicators and trends.

  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data-driven analysis.

  • Assist in reviewing policies and processes to enhance financial controls.

Collaboration & Training

  • Work closely with operational teams to promote best practices in fraud prevention and risk mitigation.

  • Support the development and delivery of training to improve awareness and compliance.

  • Assist with internal audits and compliance reviews as required.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify risks.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to present findings clearly to different stakeholders.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in profit protection, loss prevention, fraud analysis, or a related field.
  • Experience using data analytics tools and Excel (SQL knowledge is a plus).
  • Understanding of financial controls and risk management principles.
