Merlin is seeking a Director of Buying to lead our global buying function. This key role will shape and deliver our long-term retail assortment strategy across all Merlin attractions, driving commercial performance through innovative, guest-centric product development while ensuring regulatory compliance and sustainability goals.

You will develop and implement a multi-year retail strategy, leveraging market insights and customer data to drive innovation. Creating compelling product ranges aligned with Merlin brands and IPs, you will enhance guest experiences while optimising sales, gross margin and profitability through strategic pricing and vendor negotiations. 

• Proven experience as a senior leader in retail buying, operating at an international level.

• Expertise in retail range development, buying practices, market trends and consumer behaviour.

• Strong negotiation, vendor management and contract management skills.

• Experience in sourcing and shipping directly from global markets, particularly the Far East.

• Excellent financial acumen with the ability to analyse complex data and make informed commercial decisions.

• Strong communication and influencing skills, with experience collaborating across senior internal stakeholders, cross-functional teams and vendors.

• Strategic thinking capabilities, with a track record of driving commercial performance and innovation.

• Leadership experience, including developing and motivating teams in a fast-paced environment.
