What you'll bring to the team

Are you a hands-on, commercially-savvy HR pro who thrives in fast-paced, guest-facing environments? We're on the lookout for an experienced People Business Partner to support our UK attractions through a period of exciting business transformation, while helping our operational teams keep business-as-usual running smoothly throughout our busy season.

This is a flexible, project-based role supporting our Gateway UK Division, perfect for someone who’s used to navigating the real-world challenges of hospitality, retail, tourism, or leisure. You’ll need to be confident, agile, and happy to roll your sleeves up to support a variety of Employee Relations and change-focused projects across our attraction sites. Think less corporate, more commercial, fast-paced, and people led.

Gateway attractions are Merlin’s short-visit experiences, usually found in city centres or coastal towns. The division includes well-loved brands like Madame Tussauds, SEA LIFE, The Dungeons, and LEGOLAND Discovery Centre, as well as iconic stand-alone attractions such as the lastminute.com London Eye, Shrek’s Adventure! London, Cadbury World, Warwick Castle and The Blackpool Tower.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting existing People Business Partners and the UK People Director with ER-heavy and transformation-related projects.
  • Playing a key role in helping our teams navigate change while supporting operational leaders through peak season.
  • Delivering practical, on-the-ground HR project support across our UK attraction locations.
  • Acting as a flexible HR partner, ready to travel across the division – from Blackpool to Brighton, Edinburgh to Weymouth.
  • Balancing project delivery with practical, hands-on support tailored to the needs of our commercial, guest-focused business.

This is a full-time, fixed-term role running until the end of 2025, predominantly working Monday to Friday, with flexibility to travel and adjust based on business needs.

Qualifications & Experience

What You’ll Bring:

  • Solid HR generalist experience in a fast-paced, operational commercial environment, ideally within the hospitality, retail, tourism, or leisure industries.
  • A strong background in Employee Relations, change delivery and HR project support.
  • Confidence working across multiple locations with competing priorities in live operational environments.
  • A practical, commercial mindset, able to make things happen quickly and effectively in partnership with busy site teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder skills, someone who can build trust and influence with empathy and credibility.
  • A flexible, independent working style, able to thrive in a constantly changing environment and bring clarity through complexity.
  • CIPD qualified (Level 5 or above), or equivalent professional HR qualification.

We’re looking for someone who gets the pace, personality and reality of a guest facing businesses.
