You’ll be the point of contact for complex ER matters, providing expert guidance and ensuring consistency across our organisation.

Reporting to the Employee Relations Senior Manager, you’ll work collaboratively with Senior ER Specialists, UK Hub colleagues/teams, People Business Partners, Centre of Excellence colleagues, and Line Managers to manage ER casework, ensuring a positive employee experience and promoting fair and transparent practices.

You’ll demonstrate our ‘We Care’ value by providing high-quality advice, coaching, and guidance to people managers on a range of ER complexities and support managers through processes including meetings, documentation, and outcome guidance.

What you’ll do

  • Ensure ER matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, absences, capabilities, and performance are resolved promptly and accurately in line with Merlin’s best practices, employment legislation, and UK Hub KPIs/SLAs.
  • Help build capability by contributing to manager training, and upskilling initiatives on ER topics.
  • Collaborate with Legal and external advisors to support resolutions of high-risk or complex cases.
  • Promote fairness and consistency in the application of People policies across the business.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of ER policies, procedures, and toolkits in line with best practice and legal standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience in an Employee Relations or Senior HR Advisory role, preferably within a shared service or matrix environment.

• Demonstrable experience in managing a high volume of complex ER cases.
